    National Customer & Sales Operations Executive

    Job description

    • Reporting to the CEO and working closely with key members of various business units, the successful incumbent will be responsible for (amongst others and not limited to):
    • Develop effective sales, channel and key account strategies through thought and execution leadership to drive growth.
    • Support achievement of the company budget; volume; market share and financial goals.
    • Leading agents/distributor sales teams to build and maintain strong trading relationships with the buying functions to achieve preferred supplier perception.
    • Driving an effective implementation of an in-store programme and promotional strategy, that delivers the maximum return for our investment with the accounts and the shopper.
    • Delivery of effective and clear communication from the Sales perspective to all other business functions, to ensure that the trade’s strategy compliments and supports the achievement of the Promeal plan, including management of Retailer Own Label strategy.
    • Facilitate the relationship between Sales and Demand Planning to ensure that forecast accuracy.
    • Through collaboration with Marketing ensure the Sales Team have the technical information and skills to successfully optimise our brand shares, space and breadth of range at the point of purchase in-store.
    • Accurately represent the opportunities and risks based on an understanding of the trading environment (retailer and competitor) in order to influence short and long term strategic developments of the business.

    Other Core Competencies required:

    • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of sales experience with at least 5 years of experience managing a direct sales force
    • Pet Food or food experience and/or Multinational exposure an advantage
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
    • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage the business and to meet objectives.
    • Strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills.
    • Exceptional facilitation and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management.
    • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Business-related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Above average command in at least 2 of the Official Languages in the Western Cape

    Minimum Qualification: Tertiary Education in Sales or Marketing

    Remuneration: A market-related remuneration package is on offer.
