    Agile Business Analyst

    Job description

    Role Purpose

    To undertake the process of understanding business change needs, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and then supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant parties and suppliers.

    Postion Description

    • Understand business needs. Assess impact of change/s.
    • Analyse and document change requirements; Deliver change requirements:
    • Elicit and establish business needs.
    • Administer and record project scoping sessions
    • Articulate internal business requirements.
    • Where required, preparation of the Project Impact
    • Assessment (larger projects will more than likely be
    • handled by the PMO):
      • Prepare and maintain the following project documents
      • Business Requirement Specifications
      • Enhancement Service Requirements
      • Functional Specification
      • User Stories
      • Use Cases
      • Test Plan
      • Test Cases
    • Oversee the translation of Business Requirements into
    • Systems requirements.
    • Review and approve systems specifications as required.
    • Review third party vendor solutions to fit-for-purpose.
    • Prepare and plan testing.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing on basis of requirements.
    • Contribute generally as a member of the project delivery team to the successful delivery of approved project outputs.
    • Manage effective customer service and relations to drive service excellence
    • Maintain service, quality and desired outputs within a
    • specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
    • Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints and provide feedback to customers on matters resolved within SLA
    • Develop work routines in line with operational plans
    • schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals
    • Measure and monitor service delivery compliance of team.
    • Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new and improved standards, control systems and
    • procedures to maintain service delivery.
    • Initiate change and continuous improvement in work processes, procedures and schedules
    • Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices and
    • procedures, including time recording.
    • Identify and recommend areas / ways to improve
    • processes.
    • Manage effective cost control in the core processes and ensure adherence to financial and corporate policies and procedures
    • Ensure adherence to financial and corporate policies and procedures, and reduce wastage related to area of accountability.
    • Comply with governance controls to reduce risks.
    • Take accountability for the management of business related risks within own area.
    • Operate within agreed mandates.
    • Engages with others in line with organisational guidelines, policies, culture and values
    • Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.
    • Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.
    • Collaborate and work with the Project team to deliver required service levels.
    • Actively participate in the Project team to ensure functional balanced scorecard objectives are achieved.
    • Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.
    • Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
    • Actively participate in own professional development and career path

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Relevant B Degree
    • Certificate / Diploma in Business Analysis
    • Minimum 4 Years’ Experience in Business Analysis
    • Insurance Industry Knowledge Advantageous
    • Scrum Master or experience in an Agile environment is essential
