Specification

You will be required to provide construction monitoring and special maintenance on R56/3 and R67.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Monitor the Contractors progress of projects on site.
• Refer significant queries on design/engineering matters to the Resident Engineer.
• Ensure that design specs/other problems that may have relevance to future designs are
• brought to the attention of the Resident Engineer.
• Apply relevant & applicable clauses of General Conditions of Contract to the project.
• Liaise with the Contractors Site Agent with regard to all aspects of the work.
• Assist the RE in ensuring that the Contractor and his staff understand the obligations under the OHS & Road Traffic Acts.
• Assist the RE with Environmental Management of the Contractors work.
• Assists the RE in communicating with the public via the Community Liaison Officer & reports to the Engineer when necessary
• Assists the RE in liaising with the relevant service providers to co-ordinate the alteration/relocation of their services
• Assists the RE in attending and or chairing formal site meetings with the Contractor and Client.

Requirements

• National Diploma: Civil Engineering
• 4 - 6 years’ experience on major roads projects
• Relevant technical experience
• Contract administration experience
• Sound engineering judgement
