    E-Learning Developer

    Job description

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Design and maintain learning and development courses and programs on the eLearning platform and ensure learning content and design approach support operational and business needs.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Human Resources, Learning or Learning Technology qualification
    • Instructional Design certificate (preferred)
    • 2-3 years' experieicne in designing, developing and implementing interactive E-Learning programmes and courseware, preferably within an insurance or financial services environment
    • Experience in incorporating multimedia elements, graphics and interactivity to support learning
    • Knowledge of platforms such as Photoshop, Flash, InDesign, Audacity etc would be an advantage
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles and specifically how these apply to eLearning
    • Knowledge of eLearning applications including Learning Management Systems and educational technologies
    • Excellent command of English and the ability to write scripts

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Keep abreast of trends, legislation, learning technology and best practices within the eLearning and instructional design field in order to optimise service delivery
    • Collaborate with HR team and business stakeholders to determine business learning requirements and gaps
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define the scope of the eLearning interventions and analyse the interventions audience needs in order to increase the level of content usability in line with adult learning principles, eLearning methodology and learning technology
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to conceptualise, plan and design blended eLearning content (create storyboards), including eLearning modules such as content development (script writing and/or editing), design, narration, and posting to learning management system
    • Define the scope of the eLearning curriculum and analyse audience needs in order to increase the level of content usability in line with adult learning principle, eLearning methodology and learning technology
    • Create the content of the eLearning intervention that focuses on a blended learning approach and creates the capability necessary to achieving business objectives and meets the needs of a diverse audience
    • Compile instructional materials including design documents, job aids, scripts, screen text, quizzes, assessments, and other support documents
    • Develop activities, assignments, tasks and pre or post-work in line in line with best practice assessment criteria
    • Create media to support learning (e.g. visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e-learning and online) and ensure all learning material is in line with the corporate identity requirements
    • Develop measures of success, expected business impact and return on investment for all learning and development interventions
    • Conduct quality assurance testing of the course material in various environments and learning platforms
    • Develop and facilitate train-the-trainer interventions
    • Review and maintain existing learning programs on a continuous basis to ensure relevancy, accuracy of content and appropriateness of delivery methods
