PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB

To maintain 100% availability of imported and/or local parts to support production plan

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum qualification: 3 years National Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Purchasing or Logistics or relevant qualification
• 1 - 3 years’ experience in Inventory management including material requirement planning in the Manufacturing / Automotive industry

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Expedite critical parts with parts control
• Maintain lines side stock accuracy
• Liaise with production and material handling areas on any line side parts concerns
• Inventory counts and verifications
• To maintain MRP / ERP systems for materials planning department
• Ensure availability of parts to production line at all times
• Report all possible material shortages well in advance
• Expedite and negotiate with global and local suppliers to ensure availability of materials
• Prioritise critical material shortages by utilization of MRP/ERP system
• Requisitions and maintain inventory of Material to meet production demands
• Maintain administrative systems
• Train new and existing members in and outside of parts control
• Administrative tasks, weekly reporting , minutes of meetings, basic information maintenance and other monitoring and reporting
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct supplier audits and report on any risks and countermeasures
