    Project Sales Representative

    Emerson Automation Solutions currently has a new role for a Project Sales Representative to be based in our Gauteng office, South Africa that offers sales exposure in our South Africa Market.

    The position is responsible for expanding Pentair’s business by calling on key EPCs in additional concentrated geographies and owning relationships with these Long-Cycle customers. Work within the allocated region to identify new opportunities and pull through business.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain and develop a range of relationships within each account, to increase project win success rate
    • Leverage other Pentair resources to secure opportunities, to increase visibility of Pentair product portfolio
    • Utilize existing EPC contacts to identify and develop potential new customers.
    • Create solid leads and manage process for increased opportunity success and development of long term customer relationships.
    • Liaise with factory and product management (Local & Global) to provide complete and comprehensive solution to the customer/EPC.
    • Build Customer Relationships Resulting in Sales by developing robust network of contacts within territory / accounts to generate leads and continually expand contact base, resulting in additional sales and increased share of wallet.
    • Sales Process and Strategic Account Planning by developing detailed coverage cadence and account plans for all larger accounts; follow sales process and update CRM.
    • Cross-Selling and Maximizing Share of Wallet by accounts expanding and combining knowledge of Pentair products / services and customer needs/potential needs.
    • Maintain solid current knowledge of assigned industry and / or application of assigned products.
    • Maintain understanding of competitive products; demonstrate that investments in Pentair products and services provide greater value than competitors.
    • Utilize understanding of market trend to strengthen value propositions; link and align market insights to customer priorities.
    • Coordinate and lead team to meet customer objectives and Pentair sales goals.

    Requirements

    You must at least have these following qualifications:

    • Engineering degree or diploma with Sales and Marketing qualification.
    • Minimum 3 or more years of product/project sales organization experience.
    • Advanced MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint, with CRM.
    • Successful track record in matrixes and complex operating environments
    • Multilingual, English and Afrikaans with a black language an advantage
    • Ability to identify, qualify and assess customer needs
    • Ability to develop and present customer solutions
    • Strong negotiation and deal closing skills
    • Strong Customer Service Skills.
    • Excellent Communication Skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, supporting team members in multiple locations
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
