Qualifications
- BSc Computer Science, BEng Software Engineering or National Diploma in Software Development – MSc and MEng is advantageous
- Matric
Experience and requirements
- 7 years of experience working as a programmer
- 5 years of experience working with SQL databases – ideally PostgreSQL or MySQL
- At least 2 years of experience in a commercial Tech Lead role
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of scrum and Kanban
- Strong design and documentation skills
- Solid experience with architectural design of product
- Experience managing technical risks (security and scalability)
- Strong ability to develop and coach best practice to product developers
Job Description
As a Solutions Architect, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Own the technical excellence of products
- Develop, communicate and evaluate the use of best practice during product development
- Design high level architecture for products
- Contribute towards the technical development of junior product developers
- Support product developers with solutions to complex technical problems
- Manage technical risks for products
- Identify and communicate technical risks to relevant parties
- Maintain a healthy balance between configurability and simplicity for all products
