Job description

The purpose of this role is to sample, prepare and perform physical, chemical and bacteriological analyses.

Requirements

• Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science together with a minimum of 2 years’ laboratory experience in an analytical coal laboratory or analytical water laboratory;
• Computer literacy in MS Office is essential.
• Valid Driver’s License is essential;
• Basic Coal Preparation Certificate will be an added advantage.

• Sampling and sample collection according to procedures;
• Receive and register samples according to procedures;
• Handle, prepare and analyse samples according to procedures;
• Calibrate and check equipment according to procedure;
• Identify record and report quality problems;
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
