The ENTERTAINER is looking for an in-house Creative Designer, to be based full-time in our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will be required to create various marketing materials for our local campaigns, as well as assist the global ENTERTAINER team when needed. The candidate should have a strong understanding of digital media (everything from email templates to innovative social media graphics), and skills in basic animation, photography and videography will be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate needs to be able to visually communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate our consumers. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Meeting with the Creative Director & marketing team to determine the scope of a project and brainstorming visual ideas
• Developing digital design work for product illustrations, campaign logos, email templates, social media content and more
• Creating print-ready designs for everything from wall banners to event invitations
• Presenting design options to the team and incorporating changes recommended by the Creative Director into the final design
• Reviewing designs for errors before printing or publishing them
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and software
• Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters and other designers

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years’ experience within the graphic design/art direction field, preferably within the publishing, F&B, retail, FMCG or media industries
• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Flash
• Degree or Diploma relevant to the field
• Creative, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Deep understanding of trends within the scope of the industry
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and prioritise accordingly
• Experience with photography and/or videography will be beneficial
