Business Unit Manager - Paints and Coatings at AECI Limited

Major Duties / Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver on annual gross profit plans for the division including margin targets. Responsible for creating and executing Crest’s strategy for the Paints, Inks and adhesives markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Retain and develop relationships with key customers and suppliers.
• Create and drive action plans, based on best practice, to improve customer service within the division.
• Manage, mentor and develop the Divisional team.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities in line with the Business Units strategy.
• Pursues opportunities from existing key global customers in servicing their African requirements.
• Establish and align the divisional budget with the overall strategic objectives of Crest Chemicals.
• Ensures compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Responsible for financial performance down to operating profit of the division. Assist and advise the Debtors Department in managing risk.
• Be accountable for working capital and stock commitments.
• Manage costs and expenses for the division.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Matric.
• Plus Commercial or relevant Technical Tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in chemicals and or distribution of coatings raw materials.
• Relevant people management experience.
• Experience with dealing with foreign principles on an agency basis.
