    HR Retail Manager

    Job description

    The Retail Human Resources Manager provides point-of-sale business leadership with strategic guidance to ensure a high-touch employee experience that is fully aligned with Affiliate goals and objectives. This role leads a comprehensive and collaborative approach to Retail organizational effectiveness through maximizing talent, and assessing and anticipating

    all people-related needs. He/she works across all HR disciplines (e.g., employee relations and engagement, talent, compensation, benefits, etc.), leveraging local, Regional and Corporate partnerships to identify opportunities and proactively provide solutions, enhancing all points along the employee journey attraction, development, reward, and retention. The position has a strong understanding of the retail and beauty industries, as well as the local

    marketplace; is familiar with point-of-sale operations; business metrics and (key performance indicators) KPIs; deep awareness of ELC Brands; and also stays abreast of human resources trends and best practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Acts as Human Resources Generalist for store population
    • Develops and executes action plan to achieve local business goals and objectives
    • Leads the talent planning process in partnership with local leadership and guides talent development
    • Coaches and educates the business on developing their teams and handling employee relations
    • Uses and analyzes data to make business cases for needs with local and Regional leadership (i.e., input to be used for budgeting, recommendations based on exit survey, etc.)
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition on developing local approach for attracting top retail talent
    • Assists with talent selection for key positions
    • Maintains a pulse on employee engagement through frequent in-store visits and ongoing dialogue with employees via regular focus groups
    • Interprets and evolves policy and processes to support a fair, positive and productive work environment
    • Partners closely with Affiliate and Regional Retail Human Resources Directors, Global Retail Capability, and the Global Retail HR Community on an ongoing basis
    • Acts as an agent of change and steward of culture in all transformational initiatives
    • Serves as employee advocate and ensures the voice of the employee is considered in all decisions

    Experience

    • Minimum five (5) years experience in Human Resources (retail/FMCG/hospitality preferred) and two (2) of those years in a leadership role; or minimum five (5) years in retail leadership (internal only)
    • Bachelor or four-year degree
    • Additional studies/certification in Human Resources/Retail (preferred)

    • Ability to understand business data, assess to metrics and link analyses to performance in order to acknowledge and impact behavioral changes
    • Builds strong, collaborative relationships across multiple professional levels, and has

    • Proven success in delivering results; strong approach to developing business cases
    • Strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking and exceptional decision quality
    • Solid understanding of local employment legislation and policies
    • Ability to professionally and sensitively resolve employee issues
    • Experience developing and managing people-related initiatives
    • Excels at delegation and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Adapts quickly to changing needs and priorities, and manages ambiguity
    • Detail-oriented and innovative
    • Takes personal initiative and sets the example for others
    • Uses good judgment and discretion at all times
    • Comfortable working remotely if needed
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, including facilitation and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient in technology
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

    Travel 10-20% (local)
