    Software Implementation Specialist

    Job description

    About the role

    • Design end to end implementations for IRESS Financial Markets software solutions.
    • Delivery against Trading Business expectations in a cross-functional and multi-national environment,
    • including new requirements, upgrades and operational “maintenance” / trouble-shooting.

    Accountabilities & Deliverables

    • End-to-end implementation and configuration of IRESS Financial Markets (FM) solutions according to business requirement specifications and in line with business standards and practices, including:
    • UAT configuration and execution
    • product sign-off
    • assisting in client testing
    • deployment of solutions into production
    • hand-over solution to client and 1st line Support
    • accurate (current), detailed and effective client and in-house documentation / business collateral
    • post-implementation support phase
    • Expectation management (internally to business and externally to clients)
    • Apposite, effective & timeous communications i.e. inform and update progress to all implementation project stakeholders
    • Training and handover to Support i.e. internal handover and occasional client training on solutions deployed. This includes end-user functionality training as well as training of client side specialists and champions
    • Professional documentation and diagramming of solutions - implementations, failovers and instruction manuals
    • Manage and track implementations via project management tool

    About you

    Core Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

    • Understanding of Financial Markets and the trading cycle
    • Strong to excellent understanding of IRESS trading software would be beneficial
    • Strong understanding of the Securities Lending business environment and product solutions
    • Understanding of various project management approaches
    • Excellent troubleshooting ability
    • Comprehensive understanding of the software, system architecture and methods of delivery that are regularly updated
    • Excellent Customer ServiceFocus
    • Good understanding of the SA Financial Markets business environment
    • Brokerage firms
    • Fund Managers
    • Retail Trader Environment

    Key Competencies

    • Management of implementation projects (in collaboration with client Project Manager)
    • Communication (written and verbal) and management skills are essential
    • Ability to work autonomously

    • 3 years Trading Industry experience
    • IT degree or equivalent qualification
    • Industry-specific tertiary qualification e.g. Financial Markets, JSE Trading or related courses, an advantage
    • Proficiency across the IRESS Financial Markets product spectrum
    • Strong aptitude and experience in ICT and working on a broad range of systems and products;
