    Head of Digital Growth

    What you will do:

    • Build out and lead a new team of in-house specialists to establish an efficient digital marketing function that can deliver against growth ambitions.
    • Work with the Multichoice brands such as SuperSport, Mnet and DStv to centralise in-house specialist digital marketing skills.
    • Develop plans for the strategic use of Multichoice brand assets such as websites, apps and social media channels.
    • Develop a full-funnel marketing strategy, driving innovation across all digital marketing channels and mediums to acquire and retain subscribers.
    • In a bottom-up manner, provide support to a team of:
    • Marketing channel specialists to enable best-in-class organic search, paid search, paid social, display, content and messaging that focus on the upkeep and iterative improvement of always-on campaigns.
    • Web and app development resources to enable a great user experience when interacting with acquisition/onboarding/retention initiatives.
    • Creatives to develop consistent, high quality, engaging, and compelling copy and imagery.
    • Tracking, analytics and BI resources to ensure accurate data is maintained and accessible to all within the team and externally when appropriate

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive transformational change, transitioning the marketing approach and mix from traditional marketing to digital marketing.
    • Deliver remarkable results and an exceptional customer experience by balancing a data-driven approach with high quality creative and usability standards.
    • Focus on optimising, iterating and growing always-on campaigns that deliver significant cost-effective results.
    • Establish operational efficiency, leading to reductions in production time and cost savings.
    • Stay on top of new developments, competitor activity, technology and suppliers. Ensure the team implements the most impactful new ideas.
    • Tie initiatives to outcomes. Trial and ruthlessly vet initiatives based on performance against a business metric before scaling up. Have budget and resources follow MVP performance.
    • Harness split testing power. With your team, conceive hypotheses and let data from experiments direct the decision.
    • Stay agile and iterative in an industry where speed wins and data accessibility empowers specialists and decision makers. Keep your team opportunistically flexible and entrepreneurial.
    • Provide feedback on performance, ongoing projects and roadmap to relevant stakeholders at Multichoice.

    The qualifications you will need:

    • Previous experience of hiring, managing and mentoring a team of specialists.
    • Relevant degree (or experience in lieu of) and 6+ years in a relevant senior role.
    • A great communicator with presentation experience. Able to convey complex concepts in a simple and digestible manner.
    • Both creative and analytical. You have helped conceive and bring engaging integrated campaigns to life, but you rigorously analyze their performance to understand how to improve.
    • Experience in both setting the marketing strategy, as well as getting involved in execution.
    • Exceptional planning, project management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate individuals across teams and geographies.
    • Proven track record in planning and buying performance-based digital media to achieve tangible business results.
    • Can demonstrate having constructively challenged clients or internal teams and then worked with them to develop campaigns that secured a real competitive advantage.
