We are seeking an experienced Project Portfolio Manager who will develop and lead a project management team and who will be accountable for the delivery of strategic projects and programs within the business unit. Drive the improvement and quality of the project management discipline and competencies of the team.
Skills:
- Ten years of project management experience with a proven track record of successful delivery.
- Ability to improve project management practices by implementing new techniques and tools.
- Substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development.
- Project experience may include initiatives that span geographic locations or business units, impact a significant number of people and/or require reporting to business unit directors.
- Graduate degree in Commerce or Computer Science or Business (MBA) or Technology or other relevant degree-level qualification.
- Certificate in Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP)
- Professional Associations - Project Management Institute (PMI)
Technical:

- Analytical problem solving ability for dealing with escalated issues from projects and programs under management.
- Strategic thinker and exhibits strong organisational, communication and collaboration skills.
- Ensures that the PMO meets performance targets that are aligned with the business unit’s strategic objectives.
- Inputs into the strategic direction of business unit, using past project experiences, risk, resource and cost management skills.
- Has strong personal leadership skills and can act as the trusted strategic advisor, working alongside business unit directors.
- Technical integrity earned through demonstrated success in implementing of large, complex projects or programs.
- Ensures that all projects and programs are consistently managed, tracked and reported on in the business unit.
- Drives cross-business unit collaboration to ensure a consistent approach to project and program management across the whole organisation.
- Financial management skills to manage project costs and budgets.
- Ensures the PMO projects adhere to industry best practices.
- Provides end-to-end project management as a service to the business unit, from business case development through to deployment of all new products.
- Works with the business unit to prepare roadmaps and conducts scenario planning to best meet the objectives.
