Overview

To be responsible for the development, configuration, implementation and support of applications and systems in area of responsibility.

Primary focus on the online environment and associated websites and mobile applications.

Purpose and Objectives

Job objectives

• Support online systems through the effective resolution of incidents and problems, including some out of hours work as necessary.
• To develop quality code, configure application systems and implement IT solutions according to technical designs and specifications.
• Ensure that all incidents and requests raised by the Service Desk and Customer Call Centre are resolved within SLA and that all resolution and closure information is recorded in the log.
• Liaise with 3rd party support providers to ensure that incidents and requests are adequately detailed and resolved within the agreed timescales.
• Comply with corporate processes and procedures (incident, problem and change management).
• Document known errors, procedures and solutions and share internally with colleagues.
• Provide advice and guidance to customers on effective usage of online systems.
• Share skills and best practice with team members to ensure continual growth of the team.
• Develop, document and implement changes using the change management process.
• Ensure that the handover of technical change information is distributed within the team in a timely fashion.

Requirements

Experience & qualifications

Pre-requisites:

• Degree or Diploma in IT , 1 to 2 years relevant IT experience.
• Good working knowledge of Web and Mobile Application technology.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Must be dependable, use ones initiative; Determination and drive; Team player.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practice.
• Customer focused with a professional, consistent “can-do” attitude.
• Able to learn new technologies quickly.
• Able to work to tight deadlines.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Ecommerce technologies, eg: Hybris, MySQL, PHP, Javascript.
• Web and Mobile Application development experience.
• Java development experience (Spring Framework).
• Experience with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics development (setup, tracking, etc).
• Linux admin / hosting experience.
• Experience in the Retail industry.
• Knowledge of applicable Industry standards and compliance advantageous.
