    Business Development Manager

    We are looking for a Business Development Manager in our great office in Cape Town.

    Your opportunity...

    We are looking for a Business Development Manager in our Strategy, Analytics and Monetization team that can both implement our commercial plans and identify and close strategic partnerships.

    As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for shaping OLX’ monetization strategy and bringing it to life.

    Having obtained a leading position in consumer classifieds in South Africa over the past years, OLX will now focus on building out its commercial platform, especially across the cars and real estate verticals.

    You will be able to combine entrepreneurial freedom with taking one of the fastest growing companies in the continent to the next level.

    What responsibilities will you get when working with us?

    • Craft a monetization and partnership strategy for OLX South Africa;
    • Lay the foundation for a commercial operation in our cars and real estate verticals;
    • Analyse the market and do research to identify opportunities in a structured fashion;
    • Reach out to potential strategic partners and drive the process from start to finish;
    • Translate market opportunities into product requirements.

    What will you need to be successful in this role?

    Relevant experience:

    • 5+ years previous experience in Business Development / Account Management / Sales;
    • Proven track record of achieving success whilst working in a targeted and high pressure environment;
    • You are passionate about classifieds and have deep interest in developing businesses.

    Broad skill set:

    • Highly analytical but with commercial prowess to identify and realize partnerships;
    • Fluency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook);
    • Local network of connections within South Africa very beneficial;
    • Meticulous attention to detail;
    • Ability to operate independently and take initiative;
    • Ability to influence and liaise with external stakeholders;
    • Ability to translate trends and market developments into a conceptual framework and proposition;
    • Data driven analytical thinking and decision making.
