What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates that can fulfil the role of a Test Automation Engineer or Software Developer in Test (SET). To get a foot in the door with us we require the following as minimum:

Qualification/s

BSc degree or National Diploma in Computer Sciences or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered), or equivalent work experience.

Key Skills

• Intermediate developer (With JMS, JDBC, IMS and Web Services skills)
• Exposure to the following frameworks: Spring/JUNIT/CAMEL/XUNIT/Web services
• Test Automation Framework: Data Driven, Behaviour Driven, Key Word Driven
• SOA environment monitoring and testing
• Stubbing/mocking of external systems
• SQL skills
• Performance testing of SOA applications
• Good analysis and designing of functional test scripts
• Creation and execution of automated test scripts
• Setup and configuration of the IDE (NetBeans, IntelliJ or Eclipse) with Maven

Technical Skills

• Java
• C# or .Net
• Scripting in VBScript, Groovy, Python, or JavaScript

Testing Tools

• Selenium
• SOAP UI /Parasoft/ITKO Lisa
• Jmeter

Operating Systems

Windows, Linux

Technologies

• Application Servers – JBOSS, WebSphere or Tomcat
• BPM - TIBCO Active Matrix BPM, Oracle Fusion, J BPM or IBM BPM
• ESB - TIBCO

Dev Tool

• Maven
• Git, bit bucket/SVN
• Crucible/Stash
• Bamboo/TeamCity
• Hudson
• Sonar
• IntelliJ/Eclipse/NetBeans

• DevOps – with continuous delivery/integration strategies
• Agile – DAD, Kanban, XP, Lean Development

Responsibilities

• Form part of delivery team
• Analyse and review business specifications, technical specification, and architecture documents
• Provide effort estimate to key stakeholders
• Design, prioritise and implement automated test and/or mocks
• Define base test data setup with test analyst/s
• Implement build plans alongside the test analyst/s which will be executed via build tools
• Track and follow-up on nightly builds
• Handover automated test packs through to test analyst
• Support test analyst during test execution
• Defect management for both script related and system under test defects
