Accountant at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our client's esteemed retail company in Pietermaritzburg with numerous branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and retail industry experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
• Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
• Monitor and maintain internal controls
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate and up to date financial records
• Experience with recurring Journals
• Experience with Intercompany Accounting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc.)
• At least 35 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
