    Accountant

    • An established accounting firm servicing a Chinese client base is looking for a highly accurate and detail-oriented Full Function Accountant to join their Johannesburg North team. This role is suited to a hands-on finance professional who can manage the full accounting function, including tax compliance, financial reporting, and audit support, within a structured and deadline-driven environment. The position requires a meticulous individual with strong numerical ability, capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and client service

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BCom Degree (Completed)
    • Completed SAICA articles
    • 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role
    • Experience within construction and/or logistics industries (preferred)
    • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    • Deadline-driven with ability to work under pressure
    • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Good communication skills (internal and client-facing)
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential)
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • Experience with Sage Business Cloud Accounting and Sage Payroll
    • Familiarity with SARS eFiling functions
    • Experience using Draftworx
    • Be willing to work overtime hours as and when needed

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Full accounts payable and accounts receivable function
    • Inventory and cashbook management
    • Maintain and manage general ledger accounts
    • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
    • Compile monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement
    • Perform tax functions including Income Tax, VAT, and PAYE submissions and payments
    • Handle SARS queries and correspondence
    • Full bookkeeping up to trial balance (including VAT reconciliations and submissions)
    • Prepare IFRS for SMEs financial statements
    • Manage and oversee junior bookkeeping staff
    • Full payroll function including PAYE reconciliations and submissions
    • Manage external audits and resolve audit queries
    • Perform company secretarial duties
    • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and special projects as required
