Accounting Team Leader at Snatch.work

• We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Team Leader based in South Africa to manage a team of accounting professionals while delivering high-quality service to a portfolio of US clients. This is a leadership role focused on developing talent, driving performance, and ensuring smooth financial operations for multiple client accounts.
• Please note that this role requires the candidate to travel to the US at least once or twice a year depending.

Key Responsibilities

• In this role, you’ll lead a small team of accountants and bookkeepers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development support. You’ll also manage your own portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely delivery, and strong relationship management.

You will:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and monthly financial close
• Guide and develop your team through regular performance check-ins and mentorship
• Review client accounts, financial statements, reconciliations, and classifications
• Communicate regularly with clients, offering insights and recommendations
• Monitor task completion, service quality, and ensure adherence to scope and timelines
• Partner with internal specialists to ensure efficient delegation and delivery
• Maintain high staff engagement and strong client satisfaction

Qualifications & Experience

• We’re looking for someone who is confident leading people and managing client relationships with a strong accounting foundation.

Required:

• Qualified CA(SA), Professional Accountant, AGA(SA), or CGMA
• Degree in Accounting or a related field
• 6+ years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping (SME environment)
• Proven experience managing both teams and client accounts
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a must.
• Knowledge or experience working with US clients or US GAAP is non-negotiable
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
• Working Hours: US Eastern Time (EST)
