What will you do?
An exciting new opportunity exists in the MiWay Actuarial team. We are continuously looking to enhance the way we quantify risk, price and design our products. Come join the team and be part of the challenge.
Assists the Chief Actuary with valuations in a financial services institution. Responsible for premium rates and all other statutory valuation work. Responsible for the activities of a department or a specific function or area e.g. supervision of actuarial staff, actuarial students and clerical staff. In Pension Fund Industry would be appointed as Fund Evaluator with responsibility for checking fund calculations and doing complex presentations to clients. In a Consulting environment would clarify client requirements and translate actuarial concepts into client-friendly terminology, meeting all reporting requirements. May also be involved in product development.
What will make you successful in this role?
Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Statistics or related field
2 years in short term price optimisation, pricing, product development or related role
Deliverables include, but will not be limited to
Build GLM demand models
Improve current processes and expand optimisation capabilities
Perform ad hoc analysis and queries related to optimisation and LTV (lifetime value)
Embed LTV as a metric within the different areas of the business
Provide actuarial support to the Client Services Department
Manage a team of high-performing professionals
Analytical and critical thinker with a curious mind
Excited to learn new techniques and technologies, and continuously tackle new challenges
Keen to drive adoption of metrics to change the way a business operates.
Competency in the following programming languages would be advantageous: MS SQL, Oracle, Python, C++
An mathematical understanding of constrained optimisation would be advantageous
Agile and willing to change priorities as business needs change
Able to work alone and as part of a team
