Minimum Required Qualification:

• Grade 10 or equivalent NQF 2 qualification.
• Passed approved discipline specific training modules

The Appointee should:

• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Clear credit record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• Clear security screening record.
• At least 1 years’ experience in an engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations  Assist with maintenance, installation, and construction of workplace facilities to standards and specifications.  Report all maintenance, installations, and constructions for inspection.  Safe, correct, and effective application of equipment and machinery utilised during duties.  Adhere to maintenance schedules.  Attend to breakdowns.  Escalate unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation, and constructions.  Liaise with artisan or foreman for spares and equipment.  Liaise with machinery operators to establish working capability of machinery.  Performs end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures e.g. cleans tools and working area, stores tools and locks up.
• Administration & Reporting  Completion of relevant documentation.  Report completed jobs to the relevant stakeholders.  Ensure that any maintenance and construction problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility.  Report all inconsistencies and obstacles.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Stakeholder Relations  Ensure effective two-way communications with team members.  Support and promote a positive work environment.
• Financial Management Cost Savings:  Adhering to cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.
• Building a values-based organisational culture  Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
• ESG Compliance  Align to international responsible mining principles.  SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).  SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.
• SHE Compliance  Adhere to all legal and safety requirements, including FRPs.  Conduct all work according to required standards, specifications and training.  Attend SHE meetings as and when required.  Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn and/or used.  Ensure that all jobs are done to the required standard.  Inspection of working environments.  Recognize hazards impacting on all jobs and participate in on the job risk assessment.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
