    AMESA COE DX Category Management Lead

    Job Description

    Key accountabilities for the role include:

    • Act as conduit of DX (Demand Accelerator) connecting shopper insights to retailers/customer planning
    • Define and align category growth best in class processes and create an AMESA roadmap for category management needs and data, Business Unit (BU) resource and tech by market to enable category management agenda
    • Work/capability doesn’t exist today in majority of AMESA BUs so need to be able do the functional work themselves and demonstrate to markets and customers the business benefits of category management approach
    • Only Saudi & South Africa (SA) have dedicated cat man resource, roles <1yr and need to upskill to PepsiCo best practise approaches and key deliverables of range, space, in-store execution and Organized Trade (OT) strategic customer relationship progression
    • Data sets vary by category and market, need to adapt approach to accommodate, tailor processes and drive work to close data gaps
    • 70:20:10 functional category management capability build.
    • Demonstrate and build BU capability by partnering to tailor global category management processes in markets via Sector/BU pilots.
    • Playbook creation on “how to” identify category growth opportunities and insights, and devise category visions aligned to key customer strategies
    • Functional cat man training and 1-2-1 coaching with BU partner cat man resource, to drive self-sufficiency and embed change management and cat man execution within BU Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and processes
    • Create democratized digital solutions to enhance the conveyance of commercial solutions in a compelling way to engage customers/stakeholders, drive E2E insights to action
    • How to create and tailor the sales hook/benefit, commercialize the solutions in 4Ps and “what’s in it for you” selling stories for growth opportunities and to drive change management with diverse stakeholders (internal and external)
    • Harmonise and align measurement and tracking of range and space impact via the creation of customer dashboards and KPI’s, aligned with best-in-class customer engagement and space optimization and share goals and best practise across AMESA markets
    • Provide best in class planogram generation and space optimization for AMESA customers/ retailers in organised trade, picture of success of in store activation
    • Governance of Planograming, Assortment, Shelf Analytics, Space Optimization for the sector to drive visibility, availability and growth
    • Work along with Perfect Store Center of Excellence (COE) to develop execution playbooks for precision execution
    • Create /build category visions for top customers, partner with Shopper Insights and OT Channel leads to develop total store execution strategy and cross functional alignment for picture of success for main aisle and secondary touchpoint transformation, aligned to customer strategic agendas
    • Develop better together synergies to accelerate omni-channel shopper aligned solutions
    • Strategic thinking, advanced analytical ability, insight creation and deep understanding the ability to translate into E2E actionable solutions.
    • Excellent Numeracy, analytical and commercial framing ability of solutions (recommendations founded within 4P sales levers (product, placement, price & promo)
    • Communication: Strong written & oral communication skills; English and preferably one other AMESA language
    • Multi-Category experience (Food & Beverage desired), creating category strategy and innovating to drive incremental sales solutions for growth
    • Cultivating Relationships: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop internal and external relationships; build consensus & influence business partners.
    • Recognized Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, whilst demonstrating strong collaborative skills, both across the Sector, BU and Global functions.
    • Outstanding Influencing skills: Ability to establish and drive the agenda, achieve alignment and deliver results in a complex matrix organizations without formal reporting lines
    • Curiosity for learning and talent development, strong relationship builder, drive for results and demonstrates flexibility, forward thinking and clear decision making, with the proven ability to drive change management.
    • Cultural Flexibility: proven ability to build productive relationships with people from different cultures and business backgrounds

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • 10yrs+ FMCG and a Subject Matter Expert in Category Management/Development, 8yrs+ specific experience
    • Experienced individual with min degree level education
    • Organized Trade experience working with top retailers
    • Combined with commercial/sales/ execution experience such as:
    • Agency – Account analyst at Nielsen/IRI
    • Sales - NAM/KAM account roles
    • Strategy & Planning – Devising plan of action and rational
    • Market Execution - Regional Sales Manager/Trade Marketing Manager
