MTS's external client in the mining sector in West Rand is looking for an Application Portfolio Manager on a12 months' contract. You must have experience in management of multiple applications within an organisation across various applications/streams (HR, Finance, ERP, Logistics etc) and substreams. This role would also require you to have a strong technical background, Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and dependency mapping tools and people management to guide and assist Team Leads across these applications/streams. Past Cloud computing, integration and hosting experience is essential to achieve success in this role.
Requirements:
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in IT operations, application management, or a similar role.
3+ years of experience in a leadership or management position.
Certifications in ITIL, COBIT, PMP, or equivalent frameworks are a plus.
Experience with third-party applications, SaaS, PaaS, and related technologies.
Proven leadership and management experience
Deep understanding of Application Portfolio Management (APM) principles and tools.
Experience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and dependency mapping tools.
Overall Responsibilities:
Overseeing the operational aspects of managing the organization's third-party application landscape.
Leading and coordinating teams that manage configuration processes, dependency mapping, and relationships across applications, hosting environments, integrations, and supporting infrastructure.
The manager ensures that application inventory management, lifecycle processes, and roadmap development are implemented effectively and align with organizational goals.
