Application Technology Manager at Alexander Forbes

Alexander Forbes is looking for an Application Manager to manage business application service delivery, operations associated with the management of technology application services and the development and implementation of business changes according to defined specifications, standards and procedures, using various tools and languages within the defined architectural standards.

Minimum Requirements...

• Relevant Degree (NQF Level 6 Qualification), Information Technology university degree (or equivalent) would be preferred

Experience

• Must have at minimum 5 years software development experience. Must have agile knowledge and experience in software development.
• Must have at minimum 5 years managerial experience in leading and directing software developer and maintenance support teams, including supporting services (e.g. infrastructure, databases, etc.).
• Must have working knowledge and experience of technology operations, portfolio management, enterprise architecture, finance, risk, governance, compliance and project management.
• Must have sound knowledge and experience of implementation of good governance frameworks such as COBIT and ITIL to uplift the technology environment maturity.
• Must have experience in building customer relationships accross multiple teams.
• Must keep up to date best practice or industry standards within the information technology sector and must cultivate and drive innovation in the team.

Key Perfomance Areas

• Base understanding of the retirement fund, retail, investments and shared services operations environments would be advantageous.
• Ability to develop strategic relationships with key internal and external clients, and lead, guide and support the people within the technology and business organisation.
