    Area Manager

    About the job
    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

    • The area managers’ responsibility is to promote, sell and market the full product service offering of the various product channels in the allocated geographical area of Western Cape with the specific focus on the “Trading, Retail and Informal market sector

    Focus on the “Trading, Retail and Informal market sector” is vested in this position:

    • Building the Deli brand, using market knowledge and experience to establish a competitive business platform.
    • Ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues and profitability.
    • Build key customer relationships to establish commercial trading platforms.
    • Identifying and generating new business opportunities
    • Negotiating and closing business deals
    • Maintain and build relationships with existing customers.
    • Revisit lost clients and implement strategies to revive business.
    • Actively explore new opportunities
    • Pillars of growth: (Identify, optimize and implement) – “Generate sales across all products channels”.
    • Independent Trading / Commercial responsibility (40%)
    • Retail Sales – Complete Segmented Sales Channel strategy (40%)
    • New Business – Potential Sales Pipeline (20%)

    Independence (Finance)

    • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the net profit of the allocated and “new potential” customer base.
    • Increase existing product ranges Identify new potential products.
    • Identify new potential products.
    • Participate in promotions (Regional and National campaigns).
    • Responsible to achieve set trading target in terms of sales and gross profit figures.

    Customer Centricity

    • Liaise with internal sales team to manage and control all price categories.
    • Build a solid process between customers’ requirements and the internal sales process to ensure agreed products and promotions are rolled out across all stores.
    • Intensify, develop and execute opportunities from a potential Sales pipeline.
    • Research and build relationships with new clients.
    • Introduce Deli Spices to customers identified on Sales pipeline.
    • Cold calling, including proposals Meet potential clients.
    • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels.
    • Establish direct business relationships with all key stakeholders.
    • Implement regular call cycles to harvest future growth.
    • Use the “sales pipeline” to actively engage all dormant / new customers in
    • a structured process to regain lost market share and to explore new opportunities.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS LEVEL

    • National Senior Qualification NQF 4 (Matric) or equivalent
    • Hospitality Management/BSc Consumer Science/ Food Technology Diploma or Food related qualification. 
    • 2 - 3 years working experience within a similar field
    • Valid Code B Driver’s License 

     Advantageous

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite 
    • 5 Years’ experience in Sales, Marketing and Key Account
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite 
    • SYSPRO working experience
    • Working knowledge of the Meet and Butchery or Home Meal Replacement industry will be advantageous.
