Artisan Assistant Fitter (Peak Quarry) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Relevant technical or trade-related qualifications will be advantageous
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the mining environment
• Basic knowledge of fitting, mechanical maintenance, and assembly techniques
• Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
• Valid driver’s license will be advantageous
• Safety-conscious with a good understanding of workplace health and safety standards
• Must be medically fit in terms of the MHSA

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)

• Assist qualified Fitters in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment
• Prepare materials and equipment for mechanical tasks
• Operate basic tools and machinery safely and efficiently
• Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components
• Conduct basic maintenance on tools and machinery
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Support the team in ensuring that all work is carried out according to specifications and safety standards
• Carry out general labouring tasks as required
• Report any defects, hazards, or unsafe practices to the supervisor
• Work safely
• Adhere to all SHE rules and regulations that are applicable
• Be willing to work overtime as and when required
• Acknowledge that Management reserves the right to allocate additional tasks when for wherever reason the task cannot be completed on the standard allocated job
