    Artisan Assistant Fitter (Peak Quarry)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
    • Relevant technical or trade-related qualifications will be advantageous
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the mining environment
    • Basic knowledge of fitting, mechanical maintenance, and assembly techniques
    • Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
    • Valid driver’s license will be advantageous
    • Safety-conscious with a good understanding of workplace health and safety standards
    • Must be medically fit in terms of the MHSA

    Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)

    • Assist qualified Fitters in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment
    • Prepare materials and equipment for mechanical tasks
    • Operate basic tools and machinery safely and efficiently
    • Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components
    • Conduct basic maintenance on tools and machinery
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
    • Support the team in ensuring that all work is carried out according to specifications and safety standards
    • Carry out general labouring tasks as required

    Mechanic Assistant (Marble Hall)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Grade 12 certificate (preferably technical)
    • N2 in mechanical engineering
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 1 – 3 years in mechanical maintenance

    Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)

    • Assist the Diesel Mechanics as required
    • Conduct routine maintenance and perform daily inspections on machinery
    • Assist Operators with lubrication of machines
    • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
    • Assist with repairs and troubleshoot to ensure that machines operate efficiently
    • Assist with oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks
    • Maintain records of equipment repaired along with time spent on such equipment

    Internal/ External Articulated Dump Truck Operator (Marble Hall)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
    • Valid ADT certificate
    • Valid EB/Code 8/Code 10 Drivers License
    • 3 years working experience as Articulated Dump Truck Operator

    Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)

    • Adhering to health, and safety standards, as well as procedures
    • Haul blasted material from one place to another
    • Filling the mining equipment with diesel when required and keeping accurate records of the diesel used
    • Conduct and complete a risk assessment before operating ADT machine
    • Recording the opening and closing diesel level per the tank in the diesel register and ensure that it balances to the diesel which was delivered and the diesel which was utilized
    • Performing any other ad hoc duties which have been requested by management or seniors
    • Ensure the safe operation of the machine by performing pre and post- trip inspections (These actions involve accessing the engine compartment, inspecting tires and other vehicle components, checking brakes, box-operations etc.)
    • Safely operate the automatic transmission machine to or from worksites and position it optimally when dumping or receiving loads or performing box-cleaning procedures
    • Take-over/ hand over shift from off/on-going Dump Truck Operator, attend to any abnormalities first, and then report to the supervisor to receive further instructions
    • Inspect material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and keep the truck clean and in good working order
    • Ensuring compliance to relevant systems, procedures, and standards

    Environmental Officer and Junior Health and Safety Officer (Vryheid)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Honour’s degree in Environmental, Water Sciences, Waste Management, or other relevant qualification
    • Preference will be shown to candidates with 2-5 years working experience in similar role in the mining industry, consulting agency or government department
    • Local exposure and regional knowledge will be an advantage
    • Basic knowledge and exposure with regards to Occupational Health and Safety on OHS Act sites (Block Plants and Ready-Mix plants), including MHS Act governed sites (Surface Mining)
    • A basic understanding of Mine Plans and design Rehabilitation Plans for closure of mines

    Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):

    • Undertake and manage Environmental Impact Assessments for Full EIA/EMP and Basic Assessments
    • Reports for Environmental Authorisation under NEMA/MPRDA and integration with Specific Environmental Management Acts (SEMA), WULA, SDFs, and Heritage Act
    • Undertake and manage Environmental Audit Reporting to assess compliance with Conditions and Regulations

    • Undertake and manage application for closure of Permits and Rights

    Mobile Crushing and Screening Manager

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification, National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mining)
    • +3 years’ experience in a manager role
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Suite, specifically excel)
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

    • Manage subordinates, which includes shift handovers, timesheet management, log sheets, over inspections and employee relations

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • A minimum of three years supervisory / management experience within Quarrying environment

    • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and engineering principles in heavy machinery industry

    Locomotive / Train Driver (Lichtenburg)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Good hand-eye-foot coordination and fine motor control
    • Effective communication skills
    • Train driver certificate and licence required
    • Medical fitness
    • Experience in working in remote mining sites and in a cross-cultural working environment

    Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):

    • Checks visually for any defects on the loco
    • Visually inspect railway lines for any defects or damages
    • Couples and de-couples trucks as required by connecting or disconnecting truck couplings and backing pipes
    • Changes points to direct train trucks on the required lines by throwing over the point switches
    • Locks points after shunting is completed and while loading and off-loading takes place
    • Signals the loco driver to move trucks while loading, by making use of a two-way radio, hand signals and operating the robot in the loading tunnel
    • Checks that truck doors are secure by doing a visual inspection that safety pins are secure before and after the shift
    • Assists the loco driver when the train is moving by doing a visual inspection of the trucks to ensure that all are functioning correctly and that doors are closed, and level crossing signals are working properly
    • Checks that the loading tunnel is safe by doing a visual inspection for spillages in the tunnel
    • Starts the loading plant pumps on the two operating panels
    • Checks that trucks are correctly positioned underneath the chutes by doing a visual inspection and signalling the driver to move trucks either forward or backwards
    • Loads each train truck by operating the loading plant from the control panels
    • Checks that trucks are not overloaded by doing a visual inspection for spillage from trucks
    • Ensures that switchgear is correctly positioned and locked before off-loading commences
    • Assists tip personnel with off-loading by checking that doors are correctly opened and closed
    • Checks that doors are securely locked, and safety pins are in place by doing a visual inspection
    • Checks that no obstructions are present by doing a visual inspection
    • Reports defects in the loading tunnel to the supervisor
    • Cleans the locomotive by means of sweeping or mopping floor as well as wiping windows
