N2 Mechanical engineering (Diesel Mechanic) or Equivalent Qualification.
Trade Test (Red Seal)
Valid driver’s License.
Experience 3 years’ relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Communicating with the immediate supervisor and establishing material and resources necessary against specific works orders.
Carry out pre-work risk assessment
Interacting with the stores and checking allocated components and materials against job cards prior to commencing with the task
Providing guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the preparation of work site for major/minor works
Attending to deviations in performance or disciplinary/conflict issues and counselling personnel to correct/adjust behavior prior to applying laid down disciplinary procedures
Inserting the relevant information (quantitative/qualitative) and/or details of activities
Forwarding to the relevant personnel for processing
Checking the status of hydraulic driven mechanisms and communicating any malfunction to the immediate supervisor and repair if possible
Checking oil levels, electronic components and breaking devices and /or replacing defective parts
