The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an Energy Consultant to join our multi-disciplinary Energy team in our Cape Town or Johannesburg office in South Africa. As Arup, we pride ourselves on our extensive support network globally and our strength in numbers.  

This role will support the further growth, development and service delivery of the energy consulting team, with a particular focus on electrical engineering aspects of our projects, but also business development support and project management support of PV, wind, battery storage, green hydrogen and mini/micro- grid projects. Focus on grid-connections and large-project context, structure and role players are important. Financial acumen, with respect to energy projects and project finance will be a bonus along with project management support to the lead Project Manager for the delivery of lenders technical advisory, owner’s engineer and design services within the renewable energy sector across the project lifecycle.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for individuals with the following experience –

• B.Eng or BSC. in Electrical engineering, preferably with a further qualification in renewable energy and candidate registration with ECSA
• Design experience in renewable energy projects will be an advantage.
• Writing technical reports & presentations, compiling design drawings and presentations
• Preparation of bids and proposals. Support Senior Engineers in winning work.
