ASIB Certified Consultants/Draughtsman at Hire Resolve

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Protection System Design:

• Design and draft fire protection systems for a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Create detailed fire protection layouts, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and ventilation systems.
• Ensure designs comply with ASIB, SANS, and local regulatory requirements.

Consultation and Technical Support:

• Provide expert advice and recommendations on fire safety and protection systems to clients, architects, and engineers.
• Conduct site assessments to determine fire protection requirements and solutions.
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are accurately implemented.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure that all designs and documentation meet relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and regulations (including ASIB and SANS).
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for fire protection systems.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance documentation to relevant authorities.

Project Management and Coordination:

• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure that fire protection systems are integrated seamlessly into building projects.
• Monitor the progress of ongoing projects to ensure that fire protection designs are implemented correctly and on schedule.

Quality Control:

• Conduct quality checks and inspections during installation to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during the installation and commissioning phases.

Training and Development:

• Stay updated with the latest developments in fire protection engineering and industry regulations.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior draughtsmen and technicians as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• ASIB Certification (Essential).
• A relevant qualification in Fire Engineering, Draughting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection system design and draughting.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and ASIB standards and regulations.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant draughting software.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in the installation and commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with other fire protection software tools (e.g., Hydratec).
• Project management skills.
