Asset Management Officer - Kimberley at Vaal Central Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep track of the movement of assets and asset allocations.
• Update assets register regularly.
• Maintain the regional tool register and perform monthly tool inspections and submit report to Asset Manager.
• Assist with the capturing and reporting of the lifespan of assets.
• Perform year-end activities in terms of computerized systems.
• Liaise with regions on asset management activities and monitor control of assets and tools.
• Perform quarterly asset verifications and make follow-up on missing assets to ensure that they are accounted for.
• Assist auditors with compliance to audit requirements.
• Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining asset management practices.
• Ensure recording and bar coding of assets.
• Submit disposal report for redundant or obsolete assets and fleet as and when required in line with policies and procedures to Asset Manager.
• Dispose redundant assets and fleet as and when required in line with policies and procedures.
• Complete insurance claims, submit them to the short-term insurers, and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.
• Keep and update the insurance claims register.
• Submit a monthly insurance status report.
• Monitor the procurement of assets and ensure the barcoding and recording.
• Monitor the control of inventory and monthly stock take process in the region.
• Ensure that inventory variance reports are submitted to Asset Manager as per standard operating procedures.
• Submit monthly inventory reports to Asset Manager.
• Assist with preparation of the operating budget and projections.
• Compile and submit quarterly asset verification and condition assessment reports to the Asset Manager.
• Issue communication equipment and administration of communication devices.
• Perform any other additional functions as per operational requirements as and when required.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Minimum of 2 years asset management experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of PFMA regulations related to asset management.
• Experience of working with GRAP.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
