Assistant Audit Manager

• Our client is seeking an Assistant Audit Manager to provide senior leadership within their Audit Department. This permanent position is based at the client’s offices in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified Chartered Accountant to advance their career in a dynamic and professional environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
• Completion of SAICA articles at a South African auditing practice.
• 2 - 4 years’ post-articles experience in audit or accounting.
• Proficient in CaseWare and
• Valid South African Driver’s License.
• Own transport is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Audit Management

• Plan and execute external audits across a range of client industries.
• Manage audit teams throughout the audit cycle, from planning to completion.
• Review audit files and ensure quality control in line with auditing standards.
• Finalise audit engagements for partner review.

Client Portfolio & Accounting

• Manage multiple client portfolios end-to-end.
• Oversee accounting clients and review accounting files.
• Attend to various tax matters and submissions on behalf of clients.
• Engage directly with clients to maintain strong professional relationships.

Staff Leadership & Development

• Assess staff performance and provide mentorship and developmental guidance.
• Drive a culture of accountability, technical competence, and continuous improvement.
• Support in training junior staff and promoting team collaboration.
