Assistant Director: GHG Emissions Management Systems Coordination at Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• National Diploma (NQF6) in Information Technology or relevant qualification as recognised by SAQA. Three (3) years’ experience in the relevant field.

Duties

• Provide End User Support and Training. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. Create and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures. Develop and implement incident response plans. Ensure System Availability and Reliability. Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to detect and address potential issues proactively. Respond promptly to system outages and other critical incidents. Collaborate with the IT security team to establish and enforce information security measures.
• Provide system Development and Maintenance Support. Engage with service providers for support, and maintenance of systems. Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline repetitive tasks. Identify and address system performance bottlenecks. Provide Information Management services and Data Analysis. Establish and maintain a records management system. Ensure proper documentation, retention, and archiving of records. Collaborate with climate change or GHG inventory experts to derive insights from organizational data. Develop and generate reports to support decision-making processes.
