An appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Nuclear Medicine Radiography.
Registration with the HPCSA in Nuclear Medicine Radiography (Independent practice).
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years Nuclear Medicine radiography experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer.
Valid driver's license except for people with disabilities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Strategic plan, organize, lead & direct provision of clinical and radiographic nuclear services.
Render and supervise the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures that use high radiation levels in type B Hot Lab with due regard for radiation protection, health and safety of self, patients, staff and public.
Be responsible for the control, supervision, delegation, and co-ordination of activities in the department and the delivery of a professional service to patients.
Produce diagnostic images of high quality and be responsible for staff in your area.
Manage the ordering of radiopharmaceuticals, radioisotopes, and general consumables.
Ensure quality assurance, maintenance of equipment and the purchase, use and care of suitable radiation protection equipment.
Participate in middle management and delegated management tasks, including statistic collation and provide support to the Head of department.
Adhere to provincial, hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines and regulation.
Participate in research projects of the department.
Participate in quality assurance methods and CPD activities. Communicate effectively with all stake holders. Participate in developing nuclear medicine SOP and protocols.
Comply with performance management system and development system (contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessment).
NB: Applicants should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherent job requirement.
