Fluent in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, English, isiXhosa – Read, Write and Speak)
NO CRIMINAL record and police security clearance (not older than 3 months) or proof of payment to be submitted with application
Must be physically fit and mentally health
Ability to work as part of a team
High level of responsibility
Must work overtime when required
Must not have been part of this program previously
Candidates must reside within the Bergrivier
Municipal area (proof of address and a sworn affidavit must accompany this application).
Candidates should not have a fear of confined spaces, heights, depths, water, blood and corpses.
Duties:
To perform basic firefighting and disaster management functions.
Remuneration: R 250 per day
Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
Candidates must be willing to work after-hours and over weekends, Must also on request, from time to time render services in other parts of the municipal area.
Contract period: 01 December 2026 till 30 June 2027 or as otherwise agreed
