Assistant Manager/Bulk Raw Material Export Coordinator at ASIE Personnel

Requirements

• A qualification, preferably to degree level.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of commercial activity preferably in logistics, forestry and/or general products and foodstuffs.
• Thorough knowledge of operations relative to logistics management
• Understanding of logistics/shipping/inventory management processes and general operations.
• Understand the basic procurement process from order placement through to materials receipt.
• Intermediate computer skills for record-keeping / analysis (e.g. MS Excel) and reporting/correspondence (e.g. MS Word).
• Requires basic knowledge of integrated purchasing and inventory control database applications such as SAP, etc.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with the customer, supplier and with third party contractors and internally within the team (domestic/international).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Duties

• Responsible for coordination of woodchips (and foodstuff) export, in cooperation with suppliers/port/agents/HQ in Tokyo etc. in Richards Bay, Natal, South Africa. This is looking after an established business, with some new trading for similar products.
• This position reports to the Divisional Manager/Manager-General Products and
• Foodstuffs and will have supervisory responsibilities. (Johannesburg Branch Office)
• Annual trips to Richards Bay in order to attend ship loading which takes about 3days each (may extend due to various reasons) and several trips within the
• Provinces of Kwa-Zulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and the Kingdom of Eswatini where the origin of the commodity is.
• Creating a new business in the area of General Products and Foodstuffs, mainly export from RSA.
• Liaising with managers, suppliers, employees, customers, and contractors.
