    Assistant Manager Pharmacist

    Requirements :

    • B. Pharm qualifications that allows registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a pharmacist. Proof of current registration with SAPC. Five (5) years relevant experience as a pharmacist after registration with SAPC. A qualification in postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Pharmacy management will have added advantage.
    • To register as a responsible Pharmacist and tutor. Other Skills: Excellent time management, organisational skills, communication skills, computer skills, people management skills, Teamwork, self- motivated and goal orientated skills. Analytical and solution orientated, ability to thrive well under pressure, ability to effectively communicate with personnel at various levels.

    Duties :

    • Overall management of the pharmacy. Management of pharmacy budget. Management of procurement and distribution functions. Ensure availability and accessibility of medicine.
    • Management of HR related functions in the Pharmacy. Implement and monitor compliance with the institutional formulary. Facilitate rational use of medicines and monitor usage thereof.
    • Implement standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance to legislation. Support and monitor adherence to National Core Standards and ideal Hospital Framework in Pharmaceutical services for quality assurance. Support pharmacovigilance activities and develop system for adverse drug reaction reporting. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Ensure quality pharmaceutical services in line with Batho-pele principles. Represent hospital at various pharmaceutical, provincial and professional forums. Prepared to do overtime when need arise.
