    Head Of Clinical Unit - Ophthalmology

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology. A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist in Ophthalmology. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in either orbital plastic surgery, glaucoma, or paediatric ophthalmology will be an added advantage.
    • Competence/Knowledge/Skills: The candidate should also be familiar with the operational aspects of working in the joint position of the state and university. Provide overall administration of the department, liaise with nursing staff and management. The candidate should have experience in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates and supervise Master’s thesis programmes. Good leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, conflict resolution and good interpersonal skills.
    • The candidate must be able to work independently, under pressure and beyond normal working hours with a diverse team. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.     Medical Officer

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification which allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner.     Senior Registar (Child And Adolesent Psychiatry)

    Requirements :

    • A medical MBBCh or equivalent degree with an appropriate qualification in psychiatry (FC Psych (SA), MMed (Psych) or equivalent qualification recognised by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), which allows registration as a specialist psychiatrist with the HPCSA. Current registration with the HPCSA as an independent specialist psychiatrist.

    Duties :

    • Provide a direct clinical service and manage a child and/or adolescent psychiatric inpatient or outpatient unit. The provision of care, treatment, and rehabilitation to mental health care users within the framework of the Mental Health Care Act (No 17 of 2002); involvement in other general psychiatry work as needed.
    • Provide outreach services to District Health Services and District/ Regional hospitals. Academically, to attend the Child and Adolescent psychiatry teaching programme as per the department of Psychiatry at University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) University, to achieve the logbook requirements as determined by the Colleges of Medicine South Africa (CMSA) to allow acceptance to the Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry examination.
    • Teaching and training of medical students, medical officers and psychiatry registrars, as well as other personnel (e.g. nurses, etc.). To stimulate, assist with and conduct research relevant to the Gauteng Department of Health and WITS Department of Psychiatry.
    • To supervise and manage junior staff, which would include disciplinary responsibilities, when necessary. Administrative duties. Active participation in hospital management committees.
    • To assist with the development of policies and protocols of the hospital. Active participation in quality improvement programs including clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings and continuous professional development activities. To liaise with external stakeholders when appropriate and necessary.

    Manager Nursing (PN-A9)

    Requirements :

    • Basic R.425 qualification (i.e. diploma / degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.     Professional Nurse - General Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    Medical Officer Grade 1 (Surgery)

    Requirements :

    Requirements :

    Duties :

    • Represent the specialist discipline as a member of a District Clinical Specialist Team responsible for the delivery of quality health care for neonates and children at all levels within a health district. Provide clinical leadership, supports the implementation of national neonatal and child health policies. Strengthen quality of care through clinical governance, audits, and mortality reviews.
    • Mentor and supervise medical officers, nurses, and therapeutic care services professionals. Be active in monitoring child health indicators and data-driven service improvement.     Head Of Clinical Unit (Family Medicine)

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 certificate, and current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Specialist in Family Medicine. At least 10 years’ experience in family practice /clinical services and administration at primary healthcare services (PHC) after registration with HPCSA as a Specialist in Family Medicine.
    • Ability to work with PHC facilities in communities, competency in PHC services, and a good understanding of District Health and Primary Health Care Services. Ability to be innovative and creative in the delivery of PHC services and contribute to the achievement of the overall goals of the district and Gauteng province to reduce the disease burden.
    • The most suitable candidate should have strong clinical management and leadership. Possess academic skills and competencies, including research and some publications.     Duties :

    • Coordination with other programs and stakeholders to offer comprehensive medical services in the district. Support the implementation of ideal clinics, including quality-improvement projects to identify and address patient-care problems across the health system. Ensure Family Physicians have performance management contracts for themselves and their medical officers, community service doctors, and registrars.
    • Participate in District Management structures, especially by supporting the implementation of the District Health Plan. Provide leadership in the implementation of PHC re-engineering, School Health, and Ward-Based PHC outreach teams. Coordinate and sustain a structured, continued professional development program to optimize the knowledge and skills of clinicians and other relevant health care workers.

    Medical Specialty Grade 1 - 3 (Critical Care) Sessional Post

    Requirements :

    • Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology , Cardio-Thoracic Surgery or Neurosurgery.

    Medical Officer (Internal Medicine)

    Requirements :

    Production Radiographer Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Matric certificate, diploma / degree in diagnostic radiography. Certificate of registration with HPCSA and annual registration with HPCSA. Postgraduate / community service work experience required 1 year.

    Administrative Officer (SCM)

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12. A National Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Management, Finance, or related field will be an added advantage.

    Requirements :

    • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and MBChB or equivalent qualification. Degree that allows registration with Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Medical Specialist.
    • Mmed (Rad) D fc Rad (D) SA. Independent practice Certificate of registration with HPCSA and current annual renewal practicing license as a Medical Specialist.

    Operational Manager Nursing Grade 1 And 2

    • Plan, develop and administer policies and procedures of occupational health and safety. Manage resources to meet the department occupational health objectives. Provide occupational health and safety services to employees that lead to promotion, protection and restoration of the employees’ health within a safe working environment. Comply with statutory requirement and departmental policies, procedures and administrative duties. Develop an independent Health and Safety Program in workplace.
    • Develop disease prevention programs. Perform risk assessment to identify and prevent health care problems, immediate treatment of employees and take remedial steps to ensure safety of employees.
