    About our Role

MMR Research Worldwide is looking for an ambitious, energetic and self-motivated Account Director to join our South African research team in Durban (Umhlanga) to work on global client accounts within the FMCG industry.

This is a client-facing role within the research team, with the primary aim of developing small, medium and large accounts, both in South Africa and other markets across the Africa/Middle East region by growing, managing and maintaining client relationships. Key responsibilities within the role will include client interaction, research design, proposal writing and taking responsibility for quality of project delivery, adding value to debrief presentations via data interpretation and commercial awareness skills. The focus of business development will be in building and growing long term relationships with clients.

As a hands-on researcher with sector knowledge, commitment to excellence in delivery, with great story-telling skills and assured confidence, you will be able to add real insight at debriefs. Experience in, and enjoyment of management is essential as you will be required to help coach and mentor more junior team members. This coaching and mentoring aspect will require you to build a complete understanding of the full project cycle in order to be able to help develop others.

    Requirements

Research agency experience (ideally ad hoc) is essential for this role. Much of MMR’s work is within the food, drink, household care and personal care industry so relevant experience of this sector is advantageous and concept/ product testing experience is ideal. Experience within both small and large agencies would be beneficial. Quant experience is essential and qual is desirable (though not necessarily as a practitioner). It is also important that you have strong self-management, organisation and communications skills.

    Benefits

MMR Research Worldwide is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
