Key Performance Areas

The successful incumbent will be highly motivated and willing to make a significant contribution to the development of the Faculty. He/ She will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Information Technology (IT) Education, Computer Assisted Technology (CAT) Education, Robotics and Coding Theory
• Conduct research and publish in the fields of Information Technology (IT) Education, Computer Assisted Technology (CAT) Education, Robotics and Coding Theory
• Construct a coherent research agenda consistent with the broad research goals of the Business Sciences Education Cluster and within the Faculty
• Promote and support research activities in the Business Sciences Education Cluster including applications for funded research, and cooperation with SSME and SLCA in research initiatives
• Postgraduate supervision
• Provide academic leadership
• Curriculum development and assessment
• Scholarship of engagement for societal impact
• Serve on committees devoted to the development of the Business Sciences Education Cluster and faculty objectives

Minimum Requirements

• A PhD in the field of Information Technology (IT) Education or Computer Science Education or related field.
• A qualification with Computer Science OR Information Systems
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching, preferably in one of the following subject areas: Information Technology (IT) Education, Computer Assisted Technology (CAT) Education, Robotics and Coding Theory
• A track record of quality academic research with at least 10 DHET accredited publications related to the field of IT Education and/or CAT Education
• A record of successful postgraduate supervision of Masters and PhD students
• Evidence of expertise and national standing in his/her field of research
• Leadership experience at both departmental and faculty levels
