Some responsibilities include:

• Perform sample receipt and inspection independently.
• Register data on the LIMS system.
• File documentation and improve laboratory efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to departmental turnaround times (TATs) and provide early warnings of delays.
• Maintain and clean laboratory instruments; notify management of calibration/service needs.
• Ensure compliance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
• Implement corrective actions for quality TAT issues in the area of responsibility.
• Maintain correct stock levels for testing and inspect consumables.
• Invoice work completed accurately and on time, ensuring completion before month-end.
• Adhere to personal development plans and maintain good working relationships with clients.
• Follow required standards, policies, and procedures in all activities.
• Ensure compliance with NOSA Testing’s Quality System and contribute to its development.
• Adhere to delegation of authority and complete reporting requirements timely.
• Record and report expenses accurately, ensuring compliance with budget.
• Utilize IT tools effectively as per company policy, ensuring coordinated day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
• Matric (Grade 12)
• Recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of microbiology, chemistry, or diagnostic testing (advantageous).
• 1-2 years relevant laboratory experience.
