Au Pair | Bedfordview | R10 000 - R10 500 Per Month at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• Area: Bedfordview
• Children’s Ages: 9 year old Twins and 5 year old – Boys
• Working hours: Monday – Friday 13:00 – 17:30
• School holiday hours: Same as above or ideally full day if the candidate can assist with more hours (will be paid additionally as per their hourly rate)
• Duties: Collect children from school, Monday to Friday, make a healthy snack or lunch and pack lunch boxes for school, prepare supper for the children, and supervise and ensure bags are packed for the following day, including extra murals.
• Ensure school clothes are ready and laid out for the following day as per school requirements, assist with anything childcare related, and ensure toys are neat and tidy after free play daily by tidying up with the boys and teaching responsibility.
• Coach manners and know how to maintain the manners, provide educational and age appropriate stimulation, and keep them busy with fun and educational activities in the afternoons.
• Assist the twins with homework in the afternoon and prepare them for tests and speeches, form a healthy and supportive companionship with the children where the children are the priority, and create, manage, supervise, and plan holiday activities.
• Maintain proactive communication with parents, keep the boys stimulated as they are very active and love playing outside, and ensure no screen or TV time during the week.
• Communicate on their level, be understanding and patient, teach independence, be creative with activities, apply discipline in a non abusive manner, listen to the children and explain the difference between right and wrong, be an organized person, love cooking and baking, use petty cash to purchase school supplies and any other items the children require, assist with babysitting and weekend work by prior arrangement, accompany the children on outings, and assist with ad hoc errands.
• Special Requirements: Afrikaans speaking candidate (Home Language), Female, Non-Smoker, 20 – 27 years old ideally. Advantage is someone studying toward their teaching degree, but not a requirement.  
• Start Date and contract term: ASAP – permanent
• Salary: R10 000 - R10 500pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.76)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
