Au Pair | Bryanston | R10 000 Per Month at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their children aged 10 years old and 5 years old
• Area: Bryanston 
• Ages: children aged 10 years old and 5 years old
• Working hours: Monday – Friday: 12h30 / 13h30 – 17h30
• Duties: The Au Pair's primary responsibility is to provide a safe, nurturing and academically stimulating environment for the children each afternoon. This includes collecting both children from school (noting that they may finish at different times), informing parents via the family WhatsApp group upon arrival at the school and again once home, and ensuring all school belongings are brought home, unpacked and lunch boxes cleared.
• The Au Pair will prepare lunch after school, encourage the children to eat at a healthy pace, ensure they remain well hydrated throughout the afternoon, and prepare lunch and school bags for the following day before leaving. The younger child should be assisted with daily hygiene routines, while the older child should be monitored and reminded where necessary.
• Academic support is a key part of this role. The Au Pair is expected to actively supervise homework and projects, ensuring work is completed to the child's best ability and corrected where necessary. In addition to schoolwork, the Au Pair should provide planned educational extension activities in subjects such as English, Mathematics and second languages. A weekly plan of these activities, together with a weekly progress report, must be provided. This is an educational role requiring active engagement, not simply transport or supervision.
• The Au Pair will also transport the children to extracurricular activities, participate in indoor and outdoor play within the complex, work cooperatively with the family's domestic helper, and ensure all areas are cleaned and tidied after meals, homework and play.
• No screen time is permitted unless specifically approved by the parents. Personal phone use should be kept to a minimum while caring for the children, and the older child's laptop may only be used for school-related work.
• The children's safety is paramount at all times. Shopping, refuelling and other errands must be completed before collecting the children, with no stops permitted after school collection. The Au Pair is expected to remain actively involved with the children throughout the afternoon, maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation, and communicate professionally with the family at all times.
• Requirements: motivated, engaged and active Au Pair. Ensure vehicle is of a road worthy condition and regularly maintained. Candidate must not have a vehicle that is a VW Polo due to the attached hijacking risk
• Start date: ASAP start – permanent contract
• Salary: R10 000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
