Audio Engineer at Notorious

Mandela Media and Notorious are joining forces to bring the first ever podcast network to South Africa. We are looking for a diligent creative team to record and produce all podcast content in South Africa. This team will be our team on the ground and work closely with our partners in the USA, Notorious podcast network. Together, Mandela and Notorious aim to introduce the podcast medium to South African audiences by bringing them premium content featuring some of the country’s most notable entertainers

Responsibilities:

• Recording audio for our podcast shows.
• Running sound tests and troubleshooting any problems that arise.
• Minimizing unwanted sounds.
• Regulating volume levels and sound quality.
• Collaborating with producers and performers.
• Work closely with the videographer to ensure quality assurance through the whole production and editing process.
• Setting up and disassembling equipment.
• Helping source and maintain all necessary equipment.
• Performing inventory management on equipment, wiring, and accessories.

Requirements:

• Some type of educational training in audio production 
• Basic knowledge of A/V equipment and software
• Work experience in audio production preferred
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Technology or a related field.
• In-depth working knowledge of audio editing software (Adobe Audition, ProTools).
• Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and flexibility.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility in schedule to meet client’s production needs.
