Job Description

• A leading engineering and infrastructure group delivering turnkey solutions across the energy sector is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join their team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems on a fleet of vehicles, yellow metal, and heavy plant equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on vehicles, yellow metal, and heavy plant.
• Install, service, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, charging, ignition, and electronic control systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to minimise equipment downtime.
• Test and replace electrical components, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures.
• Liaise with the maintenance team to ensure equipment remains operational.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Auto Electrician with a recognised trade certificate.
• 3–5 years' experience working on vehicles, yellow metal, and heavy plant.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and electrical testing tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
