Automation and Digital Assets Lead at FirstRand Corporate Centre

Job Description

• Develop, implement, and manage a technology platform strategy to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of Group Internal Audit’ (GIA) assurance services from audit planning through completion. 
• The defined strategy must leverage digital platforms and encompass the creation and administration of a detailed blueprint, ensuring that technology continually drives operational excellence as well as effective, digitally empowered assurance services within GIA.
• To Lead a multidisciplinary team with expertise in process automation, software development, and internal audit digital platforms.

• Draft and recommend a budget for designing and deploying digital assets within GIA.

• Collaborate with GIA Exco and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement business requirements.
• Responsible for defining and implementing product Lifecyle Management across GIA.
• Accountable for establishing a technology architecture that supports the digital transformation of GIA operations.  
• Fulfil management responsibilities to effectively lead personnel and foster an environment that promotes employee development and high performance.
• Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership.
• Accountable for defining, managing and control activities of the multidisciplinary team to design and implement defined business requirements.
• Responsible for developing and implementing support strategies for internal audit digital platforms, automation processes and digital assets across GIA.
• Develop and uphold a comprehensive change management framework to facilitate the seamless integration of automation and digital initiatives.
• Foster robust relationships and effective collaboration with the ICT community to ensure that all designed and deployed digital assets and solutions are consistently aligned and compatible with FirstRand Digital and platform strategies.
• Monitor and report on the performance of automation initiatives after implementation by utilizing key performance indicators and other metrics to assess efficiency improvements and identify opportunities for further optimization.
• Promote ongoing automation improvements by keeping up with industry trends and best practices by incorporating Best-of-breed and Best-of-suite strategies.
• Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with external solution providers to ensure the successful implementation of automation tools, digital assets and internal audit platforms.

You will be an ideal candidate if you have the following:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering; post graduate qualification would be advantageous.
• Experience working with cloud-based automation solutions and integrating with on premise infrastructure where possible and/or required.
• At least 8 years in Leading personnel (at a Management Level) with technical skills in software development, process automation. 
• At least 3 years’ understanding of eGRC platforms.
• At least 5 years’ experience in cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure.
• At least 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing technology architectures.
• At least 8 years’ experience in software development and designing and implementation of automation tools and digital platforms.
• Proficiency in modern development frameworks and DevOps tools.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Budget and resource planning skills.
