    Barley Quality Specialist

    We currently looking to recruit a Barely Quality Specialist

    So, what does a Barely Quality Specialist do?

    • Develop and manage the annual crop quality heat map for applicable growing regions
    • Manage all activities associated with barley sampling and analysis
    • Ensure that work is adequately allocated between laboratory technicians
    • Own and implement the annual barley handling and storage internal audit plan
    • Participate in quality dispute management and ensure required information is available and records kept for traceability and auditing purposes
    • Own and ensure data integrity
    • Ensure that the annual agrochemical due diligence screening is executed in all contracted growing areas to adequately mitigate risk
    • Ensure that the annual mycotoxin due diligence programme is executed in high risk growing areas
    • Allocate correct resourcing to ensure that the internal audit plan is supported - aligned with identified seasonal crop risk (as applicable)
    • Identify, prepare and own the master-sampling standard for industry ring testing
    • Support all new expansion growing areas within the zone • Lead applicable improvement projects within the barley industry
    • Responsible for applicable company fleet use management in line with agreed policies
    • Responsible to assist with implementation and maintenance of applicable SANAS certification standards

    The ideal candidate is someone who holds a University Degree (with a sound track record) OR a passionate individual with a proven track record that wants to make a difference within the business.

    Miminum requirements include (but not limited to):

    • Valid Driver’s License (Code B minimum), mobile and able to travel locally and regionallye
    • Highly assertive and conflict resolution skills
    • Certified Grain Grader
    • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
    • Advanced MS Excel proficiency, highly organized and detailed orientated
    • Ability to self-manage, disciplined and results driven, highly confident and diplomatic
    • Data management and a solid understanding of statistics
    • Proven execution skills delivering results in changing environments
    • Communicating effectively by conveying information and ideas in English, in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner, providing information to ensure understanding;
    • Establishing collaborative working relationships
    • Languages: English as the working language, other languages are an advantage
    • Strong presentation skills / Data Analytical skills
