    BC/BP Part-Time Contemporary Singing Teacher

    Requirements

     The requirements for this position are: 

    • A suitable professional qualification, i.e., a degree or diploma in music, having specialised in singing or equivalent professional performance and teaching experience
    • Experience in teaching from Gr 1 to Gr 8 level, according to the Rockschool, TCL and/or ABRSM syllabi
    • The candidate will be responsible for preparing students for the practical component of subject music up to Gr 12
    • The ability and willingness to perform at school functions and special occasions within the department
    • The ability to play the piano will be a distinct advantage
    • Availability to teach mostly in the afternoons
    • Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT and online approaches into your teaching and learning
    • A high level of organisational, managerial and administrative skills
    • A passion for teaching and for the young people whose learning you would be expected to inspire
    • A willingness to work within the Christian ethos of the College and the values upheld by the College
    • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team of enthusiastic music educators 
    • A sound and progressive understanding of local and international trends in music education
    • A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos and pastoral approach
    • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
