BI Senior Systems Analyst at WesBank

Role Purpose

• The BI Senior Systems Analyst designs BI systems and Data Warehouse structure and provides subject matter expertise on BI technical solutions. Compiles technical specifications from business requirements. Provides subject matter expertise on BI production support.  

Responsibilities

• Designs BI systems and provides subject matter expertise on technical solutions and writes technical specifications:
• Interacts across levels with Quality Assurers, Database Administrators, Business Analysts, Project Managers and other System Analysts as well as Architecture. Interacts with employees and users in the Business when necessary.
• Designs BI components and provides input to Business Analysis, Data Architects and Enterprise Architects.
• Works with Database Administrators and Architects to establish table designs and correct patterns from data modelling. 
• Monitor system requirements and make recommendations to maintain and improve system health.
• Compiles technical specification and impact analysis.
• Maintains and builds new data models.
• Adheres to standards contained for the BI and Data Warehouse compliance discipline.
• Peer reviews designs and development if required.
• Reviews requests contained in the business requirement specifications and assesses their relevance.
• Evaluates the impact of change business requirements on databases, business processes, interfaces with other systems and work-flows.
• Keeps abreast of new developments on other systems and technologies.
• Provide subject matter expertise for production support issues.

Qualification and Experience

• Experience : 6 + experience in BI (Business Intelligence) and Data Warehouse
• Solid experience in PL/SQL
• Solid experience in dimensional modelling
• Experience in AbInitio, SSAS, Teradata and Hadoop
